Appointments

Appointments

You can pre-book an appointment up to six weeks ahead.  This should help you if you are working, need to arrange transport, are a carer or like to plan ahead.

Doctors appointments of ten-minute duration are available Monday – Friday between 9 am – 11 am and 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm. We also offer an evening telephone consultation for non-urgent medical queries.

For routine appointments, you will be offered the first available appointment with the Doctor of your choice, or another Doctor if this is not convenient.

If you need to be seen the same day, please try to phone for an appointment
between 8.30 –10.30 am.  If you need a Home Visit please telephone before 10 am.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know so that we can offer it to another patient.

Out of Hours Service

On all weekday evenings from 6:30 pm and weekends home visits and urgent health problems will be dealt with by the Out of Hours Service whose telephone number is; 1 1 1.

Did you know you can book appointments in advance?

Ever wondered how exactly our appointment system works? Most of you are probably aware of the fact that an appointment can be booked by phoning the surgery on an actual day you would like to see a GP. This is particularly helpful in urgent or unexpected cases. It is, however, also possible to pre-book appointments – with a GP as well as with a nurse.

You can use our online booking system – SystmOnline, phone us, or pop in and we will do our best to choose a date and time to suit you. You are able to book up to 6 weeks in advance and by doing so, not only does this allow you to better plan your weeks ahead, you are also helping us and fellow patients to accommodate more immediate needs. SystmOnline also enables you to order repeat medication, view test results, and view parts of your medical record such as immunisations. If you choose to use SystmOnline to pre-book your appointment, you will see exactly the same availability our reception team see.

So please bear the option of pre-booking your doctor or nurse appointment in mind and if you have any queries regarding this system, do not hesitate to speak to one of the receptionists.

Improving Access to General Practice Services
