Welcome to our practice website
Welcome to Cerne Abbas Surgery, providing primary care for Cerne Abbas and surrounding areas. We hope you take your time to browse our website where you will find lots of useful information about the surgery and the services we offer.
Patient DemographicsWe are currently auditing our patient records, including the demographic information held such as contact details, ethnicity, and other data.
If we have any data missing from your record, you will receive communication either via text, email, or a phone call from the surgery asking you to reply to the text with the requested information.
Whilst it is not mandatory to give us this information, it help us and the wider NHS provide the best possible care to you. It is widely recognised that some ethnicities are at higher risk of developing, and experiencing complications from, a variety of conditions. Having an accurate record of each of our patients ethnicities means we can provide more targeted monitoring for those patients at risk.

Flu Clinics 2020**BREAKING NEWS!**
We are able to offer flu vaccines to all patients aged 50-64 from the 1st December.
We have added two additional flu clinics here at Cerne Abbas Surgery on 10th December and 21st December.
It is unlikely we will be able to offer alternative times or dates due to limited staff and vaccine availability. Please book your slot either online or via phone with reception.
You MUST have a booked appointment to attend.
We have now held all five of our original scheduled flu clinics. These clinics have allowed us to vaccinate a huge portion of our at risk population whilst remaining COVID secure. The surgery would like to give particular thanks to our team of volunteers who provided their time to act as marshals during the clinics, often in cold and wet weather.
If you still haven't had a flu vaccination this year and are eligible, please phone our receptionists who will arrange a time for you to be vaccinated.
For more information about who is eligible, please see this NHS webpage.
CORONAVIRUSPLEASE WEAR A FACE COVERING FOR ALL VISITS TO THE SURGERY
We cannot provide letters or certificates exempting the use of face coverings in public, and recommend all of our patients wear one whenever possible. Please view the following resources from Asthma UK and KeepSafe for help and self certification advice.
During the current outbreak of Coronavirus we are changing the way we work. We will still be contactable during normal opening hours via the phone lines. To try to limit the number of people coming into the surgery we will no longer be offering routine face to face appointments. Instead, our Reception team will book you onto a telephone triage list with your GP or Nurse. If the clinician decides they need to see you face to face, they will make the relevant arrangements with you.
Online booking of appointments is suspended during this time. Online ordering of medication is still available, and you may send a family member, neighbour or friend to collect your medication with written permission from you. Please see our Dispensary webpage for more ordering options.
The dispensary is still open as normal, you do not need to arrange a time to collect your medication.
If you need support please view this document.
Please view our Coronavirus page for more information about the virus.
