Appointments

Doctors appointments, both in person and via telephone call, are available Monday – Friday between 9am to 12pm and 3:30pm to 6pm. We also have telephone appointments available between 6:30pm and 7pm.

You can pre-book an appointment up to six weeks ahead.

For routine appointments, you will be offered the first available appointment with the doctor of your choice, or another doctor if this is not convenient.

Improving Access to General Practice Services

We are working to improve access to appointments for our patients, in particular at evenings and weekends. If you would like to be offered one of these appointments, please ask. These appointments may be at a different site e.g. DCH.

Home visits

We do ask that requests be made before 10am where possible.

The doctors are happy to visit patients at home if they are either too ill or genuinely unable to travel to the surgery.

Home visits are much more time consuming and whilst sometimes necessary, it is not possible to provide the same level of service as is possible in the surgery, with all the equipment and other staff available.

You will be asked for additional information, including a contact number, so that we can attend cases according to the degree of urgency and so that the doctor can telephone and assess the appropriateness of the request for a home visit.

Your appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • by phone
  • face to face at the surgery
  • on a video call
  • by text or email

Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please let us know so that we can offer it to another patient.

To cancel your appointment:

  • use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • using the GP online system via the link at the top of this page
  • phone us on 01300 341666, Monday to Friday from 8:30am
  • reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
